New Cyber Growth Partnership initiative the CGP Exchange launched at UKTI Cyber Demonstration Centre aims to help boost UK Cyber Capability and exports through sector collaboration
London, UK, 26 October 2015 – British cyber security specialist, Becrypt, has participated in the launch of a major new initiative to promote good cyber security practice and UK cyber capability. Becrypt CEO Dr. Bernard Parsons was one of a number of presenters at the launch event for the Cyber Growth Partnership web-based CGP Exchange, which was held at the UK Cyber Demonstration Centre, Westminster. Both the CGP Exchange and the Centre were formally launched by Lord Francis Maude, Minister of State for Trade & Investment.
The new CGP Exchange (www.cgp.uk.net) brings together expertise from Government, Industry and Academia and aims to provide a platform for the UK Cyber Industry to promote ideas and best practice. As well as providing a focal point for cyber security businesses to engage, connect and collaborate, the exchange also provides a one-stop-shop for non-cyber businesses to better understand cyber security and how to protect their business. In addition, the CGP Exchange will showcase all that is best about UK cyber security, serving as a showcase, enabling smaller, niche companies to gain additional exposure to both UK and international markets.
During the launch presentation Lord Francis Maude stated that the Government is looking to boost the export of cyber security products and services from £1.5bn currently to £4bn by 2020.
Bernard Parsons, CEO of Becrypt said; “Becrypt has been a committed member of the Cyber Growth Partnership since March of this year, and I’m delighted to see the launch of this new Exchange platform. This is a significant development and a great resource for SMEs looking to promote their expertise to a much wider audience. As we build up the number of members and the content on the site it will be a major source of information for any organisation both in the UK and abroad looking for guidance on best practice and current state of the art cyber security products and services.”
